Curriculum Development

To develop the Prison Safe Curriculum, the Consortium will draft a Report on the needs of correctional staff and probation officers as well as on the experiences of LGBTIQ prisoners in Cyprus, Portugal, and Greece.

The report will provide a comprehensive framework regarding the scientific approach to the Prison Safe Curriculum, which shall focus on the following topics:

• Why the focus on LGBTIQ prisoners

• International, European and National Standards and Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners

• LGBTIQ people in prisons’ experiences of discrimination, stigma and isolation

• Prison operations and LGBTIQ: improving prison and probation processes

• Best Practices and Inspiring Approaches

A trainer’s guide will also be developed parallel to the Curriculum so as to assist trainers in delivering the Curriculum during the Prison Safe Seminars.
